Benjamin Russell

Subjects: Advanced English, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Science 

Ben is currently living in Dubbo, and studying medicine at Sydney University, where he regularly reads X-rays back-to-front, and mixes up the bones of the hand. When he’s not trying to make the world a better place, he goes out of his way to avoid making it a worse place by staying at home and trying very hard to not touch anything that looks like it might be important.

Ben hopes to one day own several dogs and work in a job that welcomes employees that bring several dogs to work with them. His goals include helping more people from diverse backgrounds get into medicine, improving mental health in medical professionals, and always remembering to call his Mum on her birthday. When asked to describe himself in a single word, he said “Ummm.”

Rachelle Chua

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science (Specialisation in Biomedical Science) (Forensic Science and Public Health), National University of Singapore.

Subjects: Chemistry

Rachelle is a current student at the University of Sydney pursuing a post-graduate degree in Dental Medicine. Most of the time, she spends her time sinking her teeth into all things oral cavity.  All things aside, Rachelle is a foodie and needs coffee to survive. Outside of dental school, she likes to keep herself busy with Muay Thai and does city runs to explore the vibrant Sydney life. 

Rachelle likes to keep things light-hearted in her classes and stands by the motto that ‘No question is ever a stupid question!’.

Chin-Liang Beh

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science (Ecology/Physiology), University of Sydney. Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Zoology), University of Tasmania. Ph.D (Ecology), University of Sydney. Gard. Dip (Higher Education), University of Sydney. Masters Education (Higher Education) (deferred), University of Sydney.

Chin-Liang happily pursues a professional career shared between two very contrasting and amazing fields. CL is an ecologist with the Desert Ecology Research Group at the University of Sydney and champions research in conservation biology; his other equal professional role is as an academic teaching Bioscience, human biology, anatomy and physiology to nursing and paramedic students in the School of Nursing and Midwifery for the University of Tasmania.

CL possesses a passion for real teaching and learning and believes that education plays a significant and profound role in shaping any individual’s path in life and in the community. Having tutored since he was in senior high school, CL continues his passion for teaching and learning with his Social Alchemy students by guiding, developing and fulfilling their tremendous individual potential.

CL seems to keep busy in his down time by teaching Muay Thai and kickboxing, indulging his senses in photography and cooking, learning the blues harp, playing guitar very badly, chasing wildlife and exploring the world.

William Li

Qualifications: CMus (AMEB) in piano, Doctor of Medicine/PhD in Ophthalmic Research, University of Sydney

SubjectsMusic, English and GAMSAT (Post-graduate Entrance Exam into Medicine)

Hi I’m William and I’m trained in classical piano through the AMEB and achieved a high distinction in my CMus. I’m currently studying a Doctor of Medicine and PhD in Ophthalmology at the University of Sydney. In my spare time I try to stay active by going to wrestling practice, trying not to burn anything while cooking and trying to fix my sleep schedule (as per my mother’s advice).
